Martin Nye

Managing Director / Business Owner

Bought the business in 2010

As a Mechanical Engineer, Martin graduated from the University of South Australia in 1992.  A career in Manufacturing Management included working for some of Australia’s leading companies; Tubemakers, Caroma, Clipsal, Walker Exhaust, Franna Cranes.  Experienced in Change Management & Lean Manufacturing principles, Martin was keen to enter the world of business ownership.  In 2010 Martin & Rebecca purchased King Bars, complete with 3 employees, a dirt floor factory, and a filing cabinet full of design sketches. Transforming King Bars into a high-volume manufacturer that prides itself on customer service and products that save lives, has undoubtedly been the highlight of 30-year career in Manufacturing. 

Craig Macpherson

National Sales & Operations Manager

Joined the business in 2010

Craig joined the NZ Army in 1983 – qualified as a chef and then trade changed into transport as a driver. After getting out in 1996 Craig drove around NZ delivering until deciding to come to Australia with his family in 2001. Having done a few years as an interstate driver Craig understands the requirements for a bullbar requirement on trucks. As a kiwi overstayer Craig is a proud All Blacks supporter (the Bledisloe Cup has been in All Black hands nearly as long as Craig has been in Australia). As the National Sales Manager Craig enjoys the close relationship that King Bars has with the various associations, dealerships and many long-term clients and believes in trying to find a win-win solution for any enquiries if at all possible.

Darren Fenwick

Procurement Manager

Joined the business in 2015

Darren has 20 years prior to King Bars in the electrical switchgear industry involved in switchgear mechanical including Light & heavy fabrication and enjoys the new challenge and experience of the transport industry. The evolution of King Bars has been exciting to be parts of.

Steve Nelson

Planning Manager

Joined the business in 2017

Steve spent 30 years with UGL in Taree and worked his way from the floor up to being an instrumental cog in the planning department. Steve’s background is in manufacturing, so he understands the bullbar building process very well. Since starting with King Bars the business has grown from 15-20 product per week up to 25-30 product per week and Steve has been instrumental in making that growth possible.
